Dutch mathematics celebrate the fact that 50 years ago the first Dutch algorithms was made. An algorithm is a kind of procedure for calculation and data processing. They are, for example, used for safe electronic money transfer, improving timetables and reconstruction of the evoluation of men frmo genetic data. These three subjects are discussed at the Algoritmen Alom, a public afternoon about algorithms in the Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht.
